Hello and nearly belated Happy Easter. before I am going to Easter dinner with the family I want to share some of the yesterday's spring projects. This fabulous Ikea fabric has been in my wardrobe waiting to be made into something. It turned out it was perfect for new bedding  - and I have more to make into matching spring curtains. I go through times when I try to refrain from using color, but I always come back to lots of color, nevertheless.

Instead of a flower or an Easter egg as a holiday gift I like to give my mum something handmade  - a thank you for making lovely Easter dinners and bringing everyone together. This year I made a little nest using dried grass and withered flowers. In the nest rests 2 fabric eggs, which I made, using this egg pattern from Retro Mama - they were not as easy to make as I thought they would be! The little chicken Easter egg I bought a local second hand shop, and it's from the 60s. So cute. of course it has just hatched from its "real egg". The glass bowl was probably made in Sweden in the 60s too.

On my to do list today is to make a bunny using this Martha Stewart pattern. A kind neighbor has given me this GP & J Baker Nympheus fabric, so I am using that. What do you like making for Easter? Have a lovely Monday.

PS. This is how he turned out! if you love him enough to buy he is waiting for you in my Etsy shop. :)

Sometimes it is difficult to decide which treasures to sell and which to keep. Lately I have found some really lovely things, like this dress in juicy spring colors made in Paris ( I especially LOVE the big front pockets!!) and this handmade rose pillow. But they are not the only things that I cannot decide on...

I always had a weak spot for fabrics. And so my heart beat a bit faster when I found these two pieces of vintage goodies: the flowery one is sort of a barkcloth material. It is called Svensk sommar (Swedish summer) and was designed by Al Eklund, who later joined the Laurids Lönborg company to make some of the most iconic patterns of 60s Scandinavia. The other is a Björn Wiinblad fabric!!!! I have never come across anything like it before. Maybe you readers know the name and date? I cannot help but think that it is quite rare, and that putting my scissors into it would be a crime.

But would it not be great to have a Nymölle dress for summer? What would you make of it? Would you keep or sell? Hope you have a lovely Monday.

Birds and spring sale are invading the shop! I love Christmas, and then Easter comes around and I seem to love it even more. Maybe I just love celebrating...I have filled the shop with lots of Spring and Easter items. At the same time I am spring cleaning and offer 50 % off more than 50 items. Tomorrow is auction day, yay! S yesterday I went to see what there would be for sale. Lots of lovely stuff. I especially liked some of the pewter jewelry and some of the prints of the original works of Swedish artist Dardel. What do you think? I love the muted colors and the atmosphere. But since I love retro things too, I found a lovely lamp designed by P. O Ström (do not know the manufacturer) and this orange Asian tea set. Hope you're having a good Saturday.

I love the illustrations of Åke Lewerth. Until now this Swedish illustrator has been unknown to me. But a find at a Red Cross charity shop changed that. In the 50s he illustrated, amongs other things, music books for schools. I wished I had these illustrations to accompany my music lessons, but I was 30 years too late! To me these pictures typify the optimism of the 50s, something that we will never see again, I think. Which is your favourite? Enjoy!

Hope you're having a lovely Saturday. I've been busy with the garage sale, lots of fun, lots of people and lots of things sold (and bought!). We and our neighbours are getting our storage spaces cleared out for the upcoming renovation of our flats, so we are keeping shop tomorrow as well. And although these are times to stop making and stop hoarding I can never resist buying fabrics and making things...Here are some cushion covers which I made a little while ago. One has found its way into the shop, the other are waiting to go there, I think. They say a lot about my taste. On the one hand I love soft linen, whites and beige. On the other I can never resist a bit of retro fun. What is your favourite style? My Etsy shop has been updated today, and more stuff is coming in. :)

Hello!

Friday always give me a warm, happy feeling. So, I am updating my Scandivintage Etsy shop with things that have that feeling too! Last weekend I came across a 70s children's book, which was falling apart, but of course I did what I could to save these fantastic book pages! These will come into the shop later today. Today i am preparing for a garage sale that we're having this weekend with some neighbours. Then I am having a glas of Martini, followed by homemade pizza. What are you up to this weekend?

Have a lovely weekend. And look into the shop for fresh things all weekend:
